I was a healthcare worker, five years into the job. Stable income. A profession that people respected.

Then my dad got very ill. I asked for one month off. Instead, I was given a few days... and told that if I stayed longer, I'd lose my job.

That moment made something painfully clear:

When your income is tied to hours, you do not actually have freedom. You have permission.

Permission to take time off. Permission to deal with family emergencies. And the moment you stop working... the income stops too.

Healthcare workers do not struggle because they are lazy. They struggle because the system works like this:
